About the workshop:

Since soon after Nowrooz,  there is world Taichi day on April 28th, everybody is welcome to attend Taichi-Chuan   open class.  

Wou will have an opportunity to get to know, what is Taichi-Chuan  and participate in the class and ask questions.

Clothing: Any loose and comfortable clothing and clean sport shoeas or socks.

Taichi-Chuan is one of the most popular Chinese Wushu styles. In many TV programmes about Chinese culture you can see people performing smooth and graceful movements in parks and squares of modern Chine – that is Taichi-Chuan.

Initially, Taichi-Chuan  developed as a martial art, however, nowadays it is a health improving gymnastics. Currently, there have developed a few trends of Taichi-Chuan: traditional, health improving and sport.

The Instructor invites you to discover Taichi-Chuan  basics and learn basic movements and movement complex.

Taichi-Chuan  form is performed smoothely, softly, slowly, with control over every movement. Observation of you inner condition, even breathing enhance health improvement and help to get to know oneself by learning to live in harmony with the surrounding world.

Everybody, irregardless of age and physical experience can learn the offered movement complex. The complex can be used for daily training.  

For those, who have deeper interest in Taichi-Chuan, this will be the first step for further learning of the art of Taichi-Chuan.

Relaxed, smooth and plastic movements important for dancers of all styles from ballet to bellydance are typical of Taichi.  

Taichi teaches how to relax your body after dancing and develops plasticity, feeling of space, and understanding of the surrounding world and inner condition.

The instructor offers the traditional Taichi streching movement complex  with the description of the movements and their effect on the body .

LECTURE ‘tatAR-BASKIRIAN DANCE IN THE CONTEXT OF ISLAMIC CULTURE’

 

lecturer: Alsu Mālniece (Latvia)

 

Tatars and Bashkirians belong to Turkic language group, which also includes Turks, azerbaijanis, Uzbeks, Turkmenians and many other peoples.

Strong Islamic influence is typical of all the above mentioned peoples. It has affected the development of the national dances of the Turkic peoples.

Alsu will hold a lecture about the development, basic-values, ethical and aesthetical aspects of the Tatar-Bashkirian dance in the context of Islamic culture. The Teacher will also demonstrante various Tatar-Bashkirian dances to illustrate diferences among various styles of the Tatar dance.

The teacher will also discover the secrets of tabu subjects and ethical aspects of the Tatar dance. The lecture will be valuable for various types of audience, for example, people interrested in the Islamic culture either with dancing experience or without it, for dancers performing dances connected with Islamic environment, such as bellydance.

INSTRUCTORS

Alsu Mālniece

Tatar-Bashkirian dance performer, choreorgapher and teacher and the Head of the Eurasian culture Project community „Silk Road”.  

Alsu has been dancing Tatar-Bashkirian dance since early childhood, where these dances were danced on all celebrations. Later Alsu continued learning  Tatar-Bashkirian dance in the Choreography of Kazan Culture Institute.   

For many years, Alsu has been an active member of the Tatar-Bashkirian community of Latvia and has implemented a number of Tatar-Bashkirian culture projects in the Baltic States.

In addition to Tatar-Bashkirian dance Alsu uses Kathak style Indian dance and Taichi.

 

Igor Triškin

Igor Triškin repeatedly has become the champion of Wushu.

Since childhood Igor Triškin has been practicing various sports. Igor Triškin became acquainted with Tai Chi Chuan in the late 1980’s and started active training in the field in 1999. His teachee was Len Syugan, the master of Chinese Wushu. Apprenticeship at the master who was both, widely educated and familiar with traditional martial arts was a great luck. In a few years of apprenticeship at Len taught , Igor learned the basic techniques, Tai Chi-Chuan complexes and other wushu styles. The most important learned aspect was filosofy, connection with the Chinese medicine and other aspects of Tai Chi Chuan.

Irina Kravcova is the member of Narwa Uzbek community in Estonia and leads the Uzbek folk ensamble „Sogdiana”.
