STATUTE FOR CONCERT PARTICIPANTS
ORIENTAL VERNAL EQUINOX TRADITION FESTIVAL “NOVRŪZS 2012”

THE AIM OF THE FESTIVAL:
The aim of the festival is to enhance the cross-cultural exchange of various minority national groups of the Baltic States through dance and music experience.
There are two concerts offered in the festival: Spring dance marathon for performers of all levels and evening gala concert for professional performers.
TIME, PLACE, CONDITIONS:
Dance Marathon:
31st March, 2012., 15:00-17:00, Culture Centre “Lielvārde”, Small Hall (2. floor). There is a small low stage suitable for 3-5 persons in the small hall. There is a wooden floor which is also suitable for dancing.
Aim: The aim of the Spring Dance Marathon is to bring together Oriental dance and music enthusiasts irregardless of their professional level and experience.
Gala concert “Oriental Tent”:
31st March, 2012., 18:00 Culture Centre “Lielvārde”, Big Hall.
The Length of the concert:2-3 h.
To offer a high-quality show, only professional and authentic performers will take part in the evening gala concert.
NB! The organizers of the festival reserve a privilege to choose participants for the evening concert and evaluate such parameters as the professional level of the participants and the adequacy of the performance to festival format. Privilege will be given to authentic folk genre performances connected to the Caucasian, Balcan, and Oriental cultures.
The spectators will be welcome to observe the show, recycling on carpets and pillows in relaxed atmosphere there the participants are free to view the performances of other guests.
REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION FEE
Each member performing registers for performance and pays a participation fee: 1 Ls at festival administration.
Participation fee is 1 Ls for each member. The participation fee is fixed for both concerts irregardless of the number of performances. The registered participants will receive an entry card which will also be valuable as the ticket for the evening gala concert.
Registration time for dance marathon: 12:30 -14:30.
Registration time for gala concert. 12:30 - 17:00.
LENGTH OF PERFORMANCES:
To offer an opportunity to participate in concerts for more colleagues the organization asks you to observe the following limitations to the length of performances:
7 minutes – total maximum length for dance marathon per 1 performer (irregardless of the number of performances).
8 minutes - total maximum length for gala concert per 1 performer (irregardless of the number of performances).
If there will be additional free time the organization promises to prolong performance time!
HOW TO APPLY FOR PERFORMANCE IN THE CONCERT:
To apply for participation in the concert, fill in concert participation application from our homepage (www.nowruzlatvia.1w.lv), section “Informācija dalībniekiem” and send the filled application to e-mail address ugunspulss@inbox.lv until 17th March of 2012.
HOW TO HAND-IN MUSIC FOR THE CONCERT:
Please, send to the organizers of the festival your performance music via e-mail: ugunspulss@inbox.lv or to Skype address: ugunspulss until 20th March of 2012.
You can also hand-in your music in a CD format in Riga, Jurmala or Lielvārde after warning the festival administration via e-mail ugunspulss@inbox.lv or by phone:+371 27186547 (mobile operator:Tele-2) or leave it in the Culture Centre of Lielvārde after contacting the festival administration via e-mail ugunspulss@inbox.lv or by phone:+371 27186547.
REHEARSALS:
Deju marathona mēģinājums: 12: 30 -14:30
Gala šova mēģinājums: 13:30-17:15
Dance marathon rehearsal: 12: 30 -14:30
In both rehearsals, each member can rehearse a performance once in the “live queue” order (not accordingly to the programme). If there will be more time left, the participants will be able to rehearse their performances again.
CONCERT PROGRAMME:
All participants will receive the concert programme via e-mail not later than 2 days before the festival.
DRESSING ROOMS:
The dancers will be able to dress up and prepare for concerts since 12.00 a.m. It is recommended to take your own pocket mirrors with you.
ADDITIONAL OFFER:
After Party: After the concerts all performers are welcome to after party.
Advertising and Commercial activities:
The participants are welcome to offer their advertising materials and participate in the crafts and oriental goods fair. If you want to participate in the fair as a seller, you should take a sales permission from the municipality of Lielvārde. Regarding sales opportunities contact Maija Jaudzeme, the Head of Lielvārde culture centre, phone: +371 29216548).
Accomodation: The participants can stay in the training room of the culture centre on the night of the march 31th. If you would like to stay for the night in the culture centre, please, warn the organizators of the festival by phone: +371 27186547 or via e-mail: ugunspulss@inbox.lv and take your sleep-bags with you.
There are also causy hotels around Lielvārde and the organizators of the festival will be glad to help you book a hotel room. Regarding information about Lielvārde’s hotels write your e-mail to adress: ugunspulss@inbox.lv .

FOR SPECTATORS
Entrance to Spring Dance Marathon: Free of charge
Entrance fee to Gala show for spectators - 2 ls.
Concert tickets will be available in culture centre “Lielvārde”, on the day of the festival.
PHOTO AND VIDEO CAMERAS
Photo and video cameras can be used during concerts. Filming and picture taking allowed only with the permission of the teacher.
